Being Young

In Tipperary, and throughout much of our country, there is an absence of community spaces and opportunities for young people.

I want to see more effective youth development schemes rolled out across the country.  A modern country should have mainstream services for young people. We are leaving a whole generation of young people who may not be so academically minded  and maybe not so sporting minded fall through the cracks in not having proper provision for them.

If we do not support the development and growth of young people, we are wasting a valuable resource for society. Politicians will only start to pay more attention to young people if they vote. That is why, I believe in giving young people more of a voice in society by reducing the voting age to 16. This is also Green Party policy.
